Services We Offer

Psychological Testing

Missouri River Health provides a wide range of psychological testing services. The psychological testing process can be initiated by individual requests, referrals, and clinician recommendations.

The process most often begins with a clinical interview during which information regarding a client’s presenting concerns and background and services requested will be discussed. Our clinicians will discuss testing recommendations with clients in a clear manner so that each client’s individual needs will be clearly identified and agreed upon.

Our psychological testing services include personality, cognitive, learning disability, ADHD, Social Security Disability, vocational rehabilitation, fitness for duty, forensic (e.g., sex offense and other legal matters), chemical dependence and DUI, general court-ordered, parental capacity, and presurgical (e.g., bariatric procedures, pain management, etc.) assessments.

Addiction Services

We here at Missouri River Health offer outpatient treatment for addiction issues, which employs a harm reduction approach to address an individual’s unique chemical use issues. The harm reduction model is based on a set of practical strategies intended to reduce the negative consequences of high risk behaviors. Harm reduction is a nonjudgmental approach that attempts to meet people “where they are at.” It is a pragmatic and compassionate model that advocates lessening the harms of chemical use through education, prevention, and treatment. Instead of demanding perfect abstinence, harm reduction strives to support those who wish to minimize the dangers associated with excessive drinking or drug use. Research has shown that it is far more effective to teach people to plan their behavior and use safely than to try and eliminate recreational intoxication entirely.

Services offered include comprehensive assessment including court-ordered and DUI evaluations, individual therapy, family and couple counseling, education, and nursing services. For more information or to schedule an appointment, feel free to contact Dr. Shannon Weisz.

Forensic Services

Missouri River Health offers a variety of forensic services that includes psychological evaluations and expert witness testimony in court proceedings. Specifically, our forensic services include adult sex offender risk assessments, evaluations on juveniles who have sexually offended, competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility, violence assessments (e.g., domestic violence, workplace violence, etc.), parental capacity, and Social Security Disability evaluations, as well as court-ordered substance use assessments.

Our assessment procedures are comprehensive and are guided by standards outlined by the psychological community. Therefore, one can have confidence that the assessment will meet the needs of both the clients and the court system. Feel free to contact us in order to get things started!
